Welcome to our wedding site! We are so excited and honored to share this special weekend with all of our friends and family.
Dustin grew up in the suburban town of Norwood, NJ. When he was 18 he joined the Air Force, where he worked with satellite imagery and later drones in Iraq. In 2007 he decided to switch gears and chase after his original passion, art and design. After graduating college, he began work at Endeavor, a non-profit based in New York City, where he has been ever since. Dustin loves finding new music, trying new foods and craft beers.
Katie grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She studied at Kenyon College (which is in Ohio, not Africa) and after graduation returned home to New York. She currently works at comScore where she is now the Director of Strategic Accounts. Katie loves anything citrus, always has hot sauce in her purse and never met a party or vacation she didn't want to plan.
We met in 2011 at a bar in Alphabet City called Banjo Jim's after being introduced by mutual friend (and bridesmaid) Alexis Tardalo. Dustin won Katie over with his sweet dance moves and flannel shirt and we have been together ever since. After 18 months of "long" distance, avowed "Jersey Boy" Dustin moved into Katie's NYC apartment. He finally popped the question six years later on December 23rd, 2016, otherwise known as Christmas Eve Eve.
Our Wedding Weekend
Overlooking Lake Myosotis and the Catskill mountains on a 100-acre historic country estate in Rensselaerville, The Carey Institute is the dream setting for our wedding weekend. The party starts on Friday night at the Helderberg Brewery, where we will kick off the weekend with celebratory cocktails and s'mores. After breakfast on Saturday morning, enjoy all of the activities the property offers before joining us for the late afternoon ceremony. After the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing takes place on the lawn, with the party continuing by the bonfire at the Stonecrop Estate house. On Sunday morning, join us for a farewell brunch before getting in your cars and heading home. Additional details below.
Staying at the Carey Institute
The Carey Institute is not your typical hotel. Room reservations are made directly through us, and you will let us know via the RSVP form if you plan to stay overnight, and if so, for how many nights. After we collect all of that information, we assign your rooms (just like a seating chart).
On Saturday, breakfast and lunch will be served on the onsite Carriage House Restaurant for an additional cost. Please let us know if you plan to eat onsite on the RSVP form. If you want to take advantage of the beautiful property, we do recommend eating onsite. Otherwise, there are many great breakfast and lunch options nearby if you want to spend the day exploring the area instead. You can find a list of recommended restaurants here.
We invite everyone staying overnight on Saturday to join us for a farewell brunch on Sunday morning before checkout at 11am. More details can be found on the "Accommodations" page.
